About the settlement:

In this video I introduce a new tool I’ve been working on today! It’s a simple tool where you can practice the minigame from the new settlement, without having to spend any in-game attempts 🙂

The website works just as the game does in-game, you simple click on tiles to see what’s behind them, using the information you gain to figure out where goods are hidden! The game is based on minesweeper, but instead of marking “bombs” you want to collect the “goods”, so when you think you know there is a good behind a tile, click on it to collect it! Another difference is that you have limited attempts, which you can control in the tool. The tool was designed for PC browsers, but it also works for mobile browsers. The design is even uglier on mobile, but if you zoom in on the board it should work just fine 🙂

Just a quick disclaimer, we don’t know what algorithm Inno uses to generate the games. For my tool the goods are randomly placed on the board for each new game, which I imagine is what Inno does as well, but they might have some more complex game generation. With that said, it doesn’t really matter for the solving part of the game, the logic of solving it is the same as the in-game minigame 🙂

The minesweeper logic part of the game was based on code by Ania Kubow, link to her video on how to program a minesweeper website can be found here:
